Shifting Terraces

Located in Kaunas, the project combines housing with a waterfront promenade. Designed around a modular 8x8m grid, it ensures flexibility and efficient construction. The architecture’s varied façade and cascading form tie together industrial context, natural landscape, and contemporary living.

Description:

The design focuses on dual orientation, daylight, and ventilation for every apartment, creating homes that balance privacy and openness. The terraces act as extensions of living spaces, forming a continuous topography of gardens, balconies, and community areas overlooking the river.

A rhythmic façade composition adds depth and texture, reflecting the neighborhood’s industrial heritage while expressing lightness and modernity. The project reconnects residents with the waterfront, framing a new urban identity that values both human comfort and environmental performance.
