A Journey Toward the Sacred
Madinah Grand Mosque is conceived as a contemporary expression of the city’s spiritual legacy. Inspired by the Hijrah and the mosque’s historic role, it becomes a place for prayer, gathering, learning, and reflection. Courtyards, shaded passages, gardens, and thresholds guide a gradual journey from the city toward the sacred, rooted in Madinah’s identity and memory.
Bringing Order to Madinah
In 622 CE, the Hijrah transformed Yathrib from a fragmented oasis into a more structured urban community, gathered around a shared spiritual and civic center.
The Rose as Architectural Veil
The rose is translated into architecture through layering, rhythm, and filtered light. Its petal logic becomes a fa9ade system that softens the monumentality of the mosque while giving it a distinct Madinah identity.
The Rose Garden
The rose garden is reinterpreted as an inhabited architecture of layered petals, voids, and thresholds. The project transforms the garden into a spatial system, where volumes unfold around the body and guide movement toward prayer.
Inhabiting the Vertical Garden
The rose garden rises through the mosque as elevated terraces, shaded balconies, and inhabited edges. Landscape is no longer limited to the ground; it becomes a vertical public realm connecting the city, courtyard, prayer spaces, and sky.

Madinah Grand Mosque transforms the legacy of the Hijrah into a contemporary place of prayer, learning, culture, and community. Conceived as an extension of the city, it brings people together through spaces of reflection, encounter, and shared life.
